Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
Obstructive Sleep Apnoea occurs due to an obstruction or anatomical narrowing of the upper airway in the pharynx that impedes, or reduces, inspiratory airflow (inhaling). Conventional therapy is the use of a device that provides Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), supplied through a mask. This use of continuous pressure, when titrated properly, eliminates obstructive breathing events, including snoring. This makes these CPAP units not only highly effective in treating sleep apnoea but also very effective as an anti-snoring device.
