Respironics' new Universal Portable Battery Pack and DC Power Accessories are specifically designed for use with a wide range of respiratory and sleep-related products. Whether powering one of the Respironics CPAP or bi-level devices, the Universal Portable Battery Pack, Shielded Cord, DC Power Adaptor, DC Interface Module and DC Battery Adapter Cable are ready to go in places where conventional electricity is not available. Best of all, these accessories help give you the freedom to travel and participate in activities away from home.
Universal Portable Battery Pack
The Universal Portable Battery Pack, the newest of the DC Power Accessories, is the ultimate in power portability and convenience. At 14 pounds (just over 6 KGs), this rechargeable battery is lighter and more compact than traditional gel cell, marine-type batteries that weigh as much as 50 pounds (22.5 KGs). These new Universal Portable Battery Packs have a 14.4 amps per hour rating and come with a one year warranty.

The chart below shows expected length of operation for selected Respironics compatible systems when using the Universal Portable CPAP/BiPAP Battery Pack. Length of operation may vary when using non-Respironics batteries.

Depending on the Respironics system, the Shielded DC Cord or DC Power Adapter is necessary for a proper connection to the Universal Portable Battery. Not all Respironics CPAP and BiPAP devices are represented in the above chart. Battery times may vary on device settings (e.g. higher pressure = lower battery life expectancy).
Shielded DC Cord or DC Power Adaptor?

The Shielded DC Cord plugs into the Universal Battery Pack or a standard cigarette lighter socket found in most vehicles and is required for operation of the systems listed above.
The following list of Respironics BiPAP machines require the DC Power Adaptor (1012975):

With the DC Power Adaptor, there are three additional power options. You can operate many Respironics BiPAP systems using the Universal Portable Battery or other 12 volt DC power source; plug into a standard vehicle cigarette lighter socket (requires Auto Adaptor included); or connect to a free-standing 12 volt DC battery.
The battery can only be charged via the supplied mains charger.
Regarding Humidifiers
Please note that the battery pack can not power the humidifier of your CPAP, so please make sure the humidifier is switched off prior to switching to battery power.
