Bluffers Guide to CPAP Masks
This is a quick, no-nonsense guide to the benefits of each CPAP mask in our range. This is in no way intended to replace information on our CPAP masks as found on product pages or manufacturer websites.
How to choose the right CPAP mask
There are several different factors when considering which CPAP mask to buy, some of which can be addressed during your sleep diagnosis.
Number 1: Are you a mouth-breather? If you are, you'll have trouble when using a regular CPAP mask and you will probably need to go with a Full-Face CPAP mask, like the Comfort Full.
Number 2: Do you have trouble getting a seal? Or, put more bluntly, do you have an oddly shaped nose area? If so, it may be best for you to go with a gel CPAP mask like the Profile Lite or the Comfort Gel, both of which can help to get a good seal first time around.
Number 3: Do you get claustrophobic? We understand that putting one of these CPAP masks on is NOT like sticking your head in a box, but some users have felt constricted or claustrophobic while wearing larger CPAP masks. In this instance, we highly recommend the Comfort Curve.
Sizing your CPAP mask
You should be able to find out the size of mask recommended for you at your sleep diagnosis. However, if for any reason you want to find out what size of Respironics CPAP mask is best for you, you can use our sizing gauges, listed here: Mask Sizing.
If you need a sizing gauge that we don't currently have live on the site, please Contact Us.
How do you sleep?
Some side sleepers have said that they found sleeping with a CPAP mask on was difficult, as they couldn't get a good seal while lying on their side. We recommend the Comfort Curve for side sleepers. For more information, please Contact Us.
