A lot of people do snore, but if you are overweight, have a collar size of over 17.5cm and often feel tired during the day, most days, it is time to find out whether you suffer from sleep apnoea
Screening and subsequent diagnosis of this sleep disorder are the first steps to finding a suitable remedy for you. There's no need to accept feeling lethargic as part of 'getting older', within a few weeks you can feel great again
Traditionally, sleep screening and testing was done at the sleep clinic where patients were booked in for an over night sleep test. The combination of long waiting lists and expensive rates (often over £1,000) prompted the introduction of in-home sleep disorder screening.
Two Screening Options
SleepStrip: Buy this clever little screening device which records once channel of data: respiratory flow. By monitoring your exhalation pattern throughout the night the SleepStrip will be able to tell you how severe your apnoea score is. With this knowledge you can then decide whether to go for the Stardust II or enter the queue for a sleep test in a clinic.

Stardust II: You simply rent a small sleep study device (also used by the NHS for diagnosing OSA) which monitors and records several sources of input during one night's sleep. When complete, you send it back and receive the results via a qualified doctor's report shortly after. If the data points to a clear case of sleep apnoea, this test is sufficient for ordering CPAP equipment.
